About Federal News Radio

Federal News Radio is heard throughout the entire Washington Metro region at 1500 AM and in Frederick at 820 AM
From its inception during the height of the "dot com" bubble to today, FederalNewsRadio.com has continued to expand and grow with the objective of being THE source for the latest news and information concerning feds - throughout the Nation's Capital and around the world!

During the late 1990's, with the rapid growth of the internet and e-mail, Washington's all-news station WTOP Radio noticed that a tremendous amount of correspondence was coming from addresses with .gov and .mil extensions.

Many of these emails were requesting more federally focused content. At the same time, the number of companies using WTOP Radio to reach federal decision makers was increasing rapidly.

On February 22, 2000 "FederalNewsRadio.com", the world's first, internet-only, all-news radio station was born. Our focus was, and still is, the federal community. Federal News Radio the radio airwaves in 2004 and has since grown to a 50,000 watt station.

Federal News Radio covers both the Federal Government and those who do business with the government concentrating on management, procurement, technology, security, policy and pay & benefits.

Federal News Radio features the talents of some of the best federal minds in the industry. Starting the day off it's "The Federal Drive" weekday mornings with Tom Temin and Jane Norris. Then, tune in for "In-Depth with Francis Rose" middays Monday through Friday. Keeping you company on your afternoon commute is "The Daily Debrief with Chris Dorobek and Amy Morris." Add to that veteran reporters Jason Miller, Max Cacas and Mike Causey (the ONLY place to read and hear Mike Causey every day) and Federal News Radio is a one-stop, up-to-the-minute source of news and information.

Federal News Radio's mission is to untangle the complex world of the business of government and build a sense of federal community by looking at lessons learned, best practices and exploring and talking to the people themselves who make the government work. We interview policy makers and government contractors one-on-one to explain, in their own words, how their news affects federal agencies.
