GSA contractors partner for e-travel proposal

CWTSatoTravel and Northrop Gruman Corporation team up after GSA decides to limit requests for proposals.

Two competing contractors have entered into a teaming agreement to compete for the provision of end-to-end travel and expense management systems for the General Services Administration e-gov travel services.

The decision for CWTSatoTravel, a division of Carlon Wagonlit Travel (CWT), and Northrop Gruman Corporation to band together stems from a decision by GSA to reduce the number of requests for proposals it sends out to contractors.

“The CWTSatoTravel-Northrop Grumman relationship will enhance our ability to offer critical travel and expense management services that are pivotal to a successful and cost-effective ETS2 transition,” said Kelly Kuhn, president of CWTSatoTravel, in a press release.

CWTSatoTravel will serve as the prime contractor, teaming with a number of subcontractors to deliver on GSA’s requirements for E-Gov Travel Services 2 (ETS2). Its duties include program management, travel management, account management, and system development and support resources necessary to deliver the application service. As a subcontractor, Northrop Grumman will lend to the cause its system integration, usability engineering and account management resources in delivering travel and expense management services.

“With more than eight years of success on the first E-Gov Travel Services program and having developed and deployed the GovTrip Web-based travel service, this strategic partnership will allow Northrop Grumman to focus on its core competency as a systems integrator, allowing for more efficient operations in providing responsive travel and expense management services,” said Alan Leckenby of Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector.

Other partnering subcontractors include Sabre/GetThere, Southlake, Texas; GDSX, Allen, Texas; RightNow Technologies, Bozeman, Mont.; and ImageTag, Tempe, Ariz.
