Charles Freeman, a longtime diplomat who was nominated to head the National Intelligence Council, has withdrawn his name. He was under pressure from a group of lawmakers who criticized his business ties to the Middle East and China. Dennis Blair, director of national intelligence, reportedly said that he accepted “with regret” Freeman’s decision to give up the post of National Intelligence Council chairman. We spoke with CNN’s Brian Todd about this closely watched decision.
