The Recovery Act is overwhelming agencies and federal Web sites — and none more so than Grants.gov. It is the find and apply portal for all federal grant opportunities.

One week in March alone saw 11,000 grants applications come in, more than triple the average number the portal usually sees in a week.

The Office of Management and Budget is quickly trying to make sure Grants.gov can handle the expected surge that is coming this summer.
