The omnibus bill includes a provision aimed at the gun rights of veterans. It would prevent the name of a veteran with a service-connected mental disorder from being included in the FBI database that’s used for screening gun buyers unless a veteran is the subject of a judicial review.
While the bills may have made it through the committee, it is unclear if they will become law. Both the House and Senate have a number of big issues to resolve before pre-election breaks.
