The Air Force says it’s testing new methods and technologies designed to get advanced care to patients on the battlefield and in disaster area more quickly. Federal News Radio’s Jared Serbu has details on two of the innovations the Air Force’s top doctor talked about this morning.
The Office of Management and Budget is mandating agencies continuously monitor their computer networks for cyber threats by the end of fiscal 2012. This was one of several directives handed to agency chief information officers in the 2012 budget IT guidance. OPM has sent teams around the country over the past nine months to help agencies change the way they recruit and hire. Angela Bailey is OPM’s deputy associate director for recruitment and hiring and in charge of the Mobile Assistance Teams, or MATs. At first she wasn’t sure how receptive the agencies would be to OPM’s assistance. But she says the overwhelming response from agencies speaks to their need in completing the reforms.
