  • The president’s budget request includes a Pentagon plan to save nearly $80 billion in the next several years. The blueprint would provide nearly $730 billion for overall defense spending. Federal News Radio’s Jared Serbu is at the Pentagon, where defense leaders are briefing reporters on the budget request.
  • President Obama’s three point seven trillion dollar 20-12 budget request would freeze non-security discretionary spending for five years. The White house says it will help put the government on a more sustainable spending path. Jacob Lew is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. He says the first step to getting on that sustainable path is reforming the way your agency does business. Meg Beasley will have the full report.
