Making of the Congressional Record

A step-by-step guide to the creation of the Congressional Record.

Since 1873, the Government Printing Office has printed the Congressional Record, the daily publication of Congress’ proceedings. Some of the steps involved in printing and putting the Record online are illustrated below.
