The Federal News Radio Community Spotlight for December is the Volunteers of America Chesapheake!

Their mission is to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human services and for the past 115 years, Volunteers of America Chesapeake has been Called to Care.

Since 1896 the non-profit organization has been helping those who need help the most and are currently serving more than 10,000 people in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

This holiday season, give a gift that will last long after it’s been unwrapped. Give the Gift of Hope, to a man, woman or child in need in your community.

Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Gifts of Hope provide alternative giving options – allowing you to give a gift that will touch – and possibly change – the life of a man, woman or child in need right here in your area.

You can touch the life of someone in need through our Gifts of Hope, with gifts starting as low as $5. For example: purchase a toy for a homeless child; or purchase transportation for an individual staying at one of our centers. Or help support our homeless veterans who served our country.

You can make a lasting impact in the life of someone in need… by giving a Gift of Hope.
