When Will the Changes Start?

One of the most frequently asked questions about open season changes is “when do they start?”

The answer is: it depends.

For retirees, the answer is simple; it’s always January first.

For most active feds, the effective date is the first day of the first full pay period in January. In 2007, that’s January seventh for most federal employees.
