Tech chiefs present a deficit-reduction plan

Smarter use of technology could save the government, $1 trillion, according to the Technology CEO Council.

The recommendation will be presented Wednesday to senior White House economic officials and Federal Reserve bankers, The New York Times reports.

According to the article, “The council’s recommendations, contained in a report ‘One Trillion Reasons,’ include consolidating data centers, streamlining procurement, adopting online self-service for federal agencies, and deploying analytics software to detect fraud and waste in federal grant programs, food stamps and Medicare.”
