The House is expected to vote Thursday on a resolution that will cut House office salaries and expenses by 5 percent, The Hill reports.
The resolution, sponsored by Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), aims to save $35.2 million this year. It would be in effect for two years.
The measure also reduces the Appropriations Committee budget by 9 percent, The Hill reports.
Cuts to committees may continue with incoming House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky), who wants to reduce the committee’s staff by 20 percent.
