And with as much as $554 billion in funding for defense programs up for grabs, BGOV Defense Analyst Robert Levinson and Congressional Analyst Loren Duggan outline the key tension points in the FY2013 Defense Authorization as the bill hits the House floor.
Loren Duggan is Bloomberg Government’s chief legislative analyst. Before joining Bloomberg, he was editor of Congressional Quarterly’s House Action Reports, providing summaries and analysis of legislation. He also contributed to CQ’s legislative tracking services during his decade with the company. Loren holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from American University.
Robert Levinson is a defense analyst at Bloomberg Government. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force with more than 20 years of service. Levinson worked for Booz Allen Hamilton as a strategic communications consultant. He has a bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy and a masters from the University of California, San Diego.
Christopher Payne is an economic analyst with Bloomberg Government. After getting his Ph.D. at the London School of Economics, he served as a research fellow at Duke University, and then came to Bloomberg. Payne worked as a CPA at PricewaterhouseCoopers and was a vice president at JPMorgan Securities covering Asian emerging markets. He also has a master’s from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from Cambridge University.
Nela Richardson is an economic analyst with Bloomberg Government. Nela was a research economist at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission before joining Bloomberg. She was also a senior economist at Freddie Mac, a researcher at Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, and an adjunct professor of finance at Johns Hopkins. Richardson has a PhD in economics from the University of Maryland, a M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. from Indiana University.
Allen Scott (moderator) specializes in customer on boarding and training at Bloomberg Government. Allen previously worked at Arbitron, Inc. where he served in a variety of roles from customer service to sales operations manager. Prior to Arbitron, Allen worked in radio for several years in the Washington and Baltimore areas. Most recently he spent six years at 99.1 HFS as co-host and news director.
