Federal budget expert Ray Bjorklund stepped down Monday as vice president and chief knowledge officer at Deltek, the Virginia-based enterprise software and information solutions provider.

In a phone interview with Federal News Radio, Bjorklund declined to comment on the reason for his departure or what his immediate plans were, though he did say he was not retiring.

“That’s not in my psyche,” he said. “There’s plenty of work left in me.”

He plans to make an announcement later this week about his next move.

Bjorklund had nothing but positive comments about Deltek, saying it was a “great company” and “a powerhouse for delivering” information to its clients.

He worked for Deltek since April 1, 2011, when the company purchased FedSources, where Bjorklund had been employed since 1998.

Prior to coming to FedSources, Bjorklund oversaw procurement processes at the Defense Information Systems Agency and the Air Force.

Washington Technology first reported Bjorklund’s departure.
