Were you on leave last week?

Judging from the traffic last week lots of folks took advantage of the Easter-Passover-Spring break. If you did that you may have missed some interesting developments that could involve you. Here’s a recap:

Reserve/Guard Pay

The Office of Personnel Management made official a change that guarantees federal and postal workers who are activated by their National Guard/Reserve units won’t lose pay while serving their country in uniform. We tipped you to the change on March 19. Now it is chiseled in stone. For more, click here.

Leave Bonus For Executives

OPM has also extended a fast-track annual leave plan (now available to members of the SES) to top-level careerists in agencies with their own pay and pay personnel system. The break, which allows them to accumulate the maximum amount of annual leave regardless of service time, covers workers in 22 agencies. For details, and a list of who’s in, click here.

Retirees & Stimulus Payments

Many retired feds (and people who get Social Security benefits) are wondering how, and if, the new $250 stimulus payments affect them. The best source for information for retirees is at www.narfe.org

Wanna Go Part-Time?

Many long-time CSRS workers would like to transition into retirement by going part-time. But under current rules that can downsize their annuity. But changes are in the works. Here’s what’s happening: Going Part-Time

Problem Employees
