On this week’s edition of Bloomberg Government’s Capital Impact show with host Allen Scott:
With President Barack Obama declaring this week “World Trade Week,” BGOV Trade Analysts Caitlin Webber and Ken Monahan evaluate trade tensions facing U.S. companies, including the fight over solar panel imports from China and the unintended side effects of U.S. duties.
As lawmakers craft legislation to reduce or eliminate duties on imported goods, questions over whether the provisions are considered “earmarks” put their passage in jeopardy. Congressional Analysts Melissa Avstreih and Loren Duggan weigh in on the potential effects of the legislation and other key items to watch for in Congress this summer.
