On DoD online chat with Army Logistics Modernization Program's Lt. Col. Robert Williams and Army Materiel Command's Joshua Call.

Lt. Col. Robert Williams, the program manager for Army Logistics Modernization Program and Joshua Call, the chief of the supply chain management division for the Army Materiel Command,  joined Federal News Radio for a free online chat. Lt. Col. Williams and Mr. Call fielded your questions on how the Army is using modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to tackle readiness challenges – from sending urgent spare parts to the battlefield to managing its complex depot maintenance network – and how the Army hopes to improve on the progress it’s already made through the ongoing rollout of LMP Increment 2.

Deputy Editor and DoD reporter Jared Serbu moderated the chat, which was underwritten by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services.

Lt. Col. Williams and Mr. Call took part in the chat after their recent appearance on Federal News Radio’s On DoD program.

Lt._Col._Robert_Williams.pngLt. Col. Robert Williams has been the program manager for Army Logistics Modernization Program since July 2014. Prior to joining the LMP, he most recently served as a Department of the Army System Coordinator while assigned to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology and was assigned to Army G-8 Program Analysis and Evaluation as an Acquisition Program Analyst. Lt. Col. Williams is a graduate of the Military Intelligence Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Command and General Staff College. He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and is Level III Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certified in Program Management. He holds a bachelor of science in General Studies from Columbus State University, a master of arts in administration (with a concentration in organizational development) from the University of the Incarnate Word, and a master of science in project management from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Joshua_Call-1.jpgJoshua P. Call serves as the Chief of the Supply Chain Management Division, Army Materiel Command (AMC), overseeing numerous national logistics business processes and the supporting Information Technology enablers.  He also serves as the lead for the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) deployments and acquisition planning since May of 2008.  He works closely with the Product Management Office, Army G-4, Army Enterprise Resource Planning systems, and other major stakeholders.  He also supports business process improvement, business process standardization, and Information Technology portfolio reduction efforts.  Mr. Call joined the AMC in September 2003 as a member of the AMC Fellows Program, working through positions of increasing responsibility in areas of logistics support planning, supply chain operations, Information Technology management, and project management.  Mr. Call earned a Master of Business Administration in 2004 from Texas A&M-Texarkana and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2003 from Brigham Young University.
