This week on “Fed Access”, Evan Lesser, managing director and co-founder of ClearanceJobs.com,  joins host Derrick Dortch to talk about the state of the clearance job market in 2016.

He’ll discuss the challenges that cleared workers are facing when looking for a job in the federal government, and he’ll explain why it is now taking longer for job seekers to get through the clearance process.

At the beginning of 2015, the process took about 135 days.  Now it takes approximately 179 days to get a security clearance.

Lesser will also discuss what cleared workers can do to increase their chances of getting a  federal job, and how social media has impacted hiring at agencies and departments that have a large number of employees with security clearances.
