This week on “Fed Access” Mike Bruni, talent acquisition manager at SC3, joins host Derrick Dortch to discuss the state of the federal job market and the opportunities that exist in the defense, national security, healthcare, and IT industries.

Bruni says the federal job market has improved in 2016 and gotten more competitive. That, in turn, has made the hiring process longer for some applicants including those with security clearances.

During the program, he offers tips on what you can do to increase your chances of getting a federal job, explains what recruiters are looking for when evaluating candidates for positions in the federal government, and discusses how social media, particularly LinkedIn, has changed the hiring process.

Bruni also talks about Project S.A.V.E., which gives recruiters and HR professionals an opportunity to  discuss hiring trends, recruiting best practices, and new recruiting tools.
