Defense conference focuses on alternative fuels

Saving energy, going green, reducing the carbon footprint: Every agency is doing it. The Defense Department probably has the biggest energy requirement in the federal government, maybe in the whole world. The Worldwide Energy Conference, going on right now at National Harbor, Maryland, is focused on DOD’s energy needs and its quest for alternative fuels and new energy solutions. Joining to discuss the conference and what DOD hopes to gain are Mark Iden, Deputy Director of Operations, and Colonel Steve Kephart, Director of Mobility Fuels at the Defense Energy Support Center, a field activity of the Defense Logistics Agency.
