A computer virus is infecting American Predator and Reaper drones, the Associated Press reports.

The virus tracks pilots’ keystrokes as they remotely fly missions over Iraq and Afghanistan, and was first detected by the military’s Host Based Security System.

There are no confirmed cases of sensitive information being lost or sent to an outside source, and missions are still being flown.

The virus has proven persistent, having reportedly been found, erased and returned several times.

Unmanned aerial drones have become one the most effective and deadly tools at the military’s disposal.
