The Energy Department is moving forward with plans to beef up the way it feeds information to a web-connected United States. Agency leaders want to increase the use of application programming interfaces or APIs. Those tools make it easier for developers to put Energy information on websites and in mobile apps.
Cammie Croft, the department’s director of new media, tells The Federal Drive with Tom Temin about some of the datasets available to developers and apps that have been created.
Tom Temin is the host of The Federal Drive, which airs from 6-9 a.m. on 1500 AM in the Washington, DC region and online everywhere. Tom has 30 years experience in journalism, mostly in technology markets.
