Air Force Lt. Gen Brooks Bash, the staff logistics director, will oversee a seven-point plan to reduce battlefield energy consumption. The strategy plan came out in June. Many of its ideas have been tested in Afghanistan. U.S. forces there have used highly efficient generators, micro-grids and shelters.
