Ishimaru joined the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 2003. For the next four years, he says the agency suffered from flat funding. A quarter of its frontline workers in the field left. Ishimaru became the acting chairman of the commission in 2009. In the months that followed, he helped turn the agency around. Today, it is breaking new ground in the fight against discrimination. Ishimaru left the EEOC at the end of April.


Rob BarnettEnergy Analyst, Bloomberg Government

The Environmental Protection Agency is set to ban new construction of coal-fired power plants. While that may sound drastic, Bloomberg Government energy analyst Rob Barnett says that’s kind of like banning flying cars — something not likely to happen any time soon anyway. He spoke to Allen Scott, host of the new show Bloomberg Government’s Capital Impact.
