The Defense Contract Audit Agency and the American Federation of Government Employees have signed a new contract under a national bargaining council. It’s the first ever agency-wide labor contract. Jim Galler, DCAA’s council president, has the details.

Pot is placing the federal government in a sticky situation. More states consider legalizing marijuana. That makes it tricky for the federal government to enforce the law on its books — the one that outlaws marijuana.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Government Operations held the first hearing on the issue. The chairman, Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.), says there is “dramatic chaos” within the national drug policy.

JR Reagan has helped the National Institute of Standards and Technology develop the cybersecurity framework the White House unveiled this week. Reagan is the federal chief innovation officer and principal for Deloitte Services. His group also helped NIST conduct four public workshops over the past year. The framework is based on five core functions: Identify, protect, detect, respond and recover.

New agency performance goals will likely be part of the White House’s fiscal 2015 budget request to Congress. That request comes out on March 4.
