  • While most federal workers are enjoying their paid holiday today for Thanksgiving, it does not look like they’ll be getting tomorrow off. A We the People petition started earlier this month, asking the White House to grant feds the additional holiday, got just over 7,000 signatures at the time of this writing, falling far short of the 100,000 needed just for the White House to respond.   • Assistant Secretary for Acquisition of the Air Force William LaPlante has said the U.S. could face trouble when it comes to maintaining access to space, advancing competition in space launches, and ending dependence on Russian-made rocket engines. Reuters reports the assistant secretary doesn’t think we’ll be able to achieve all three of those goals in the next four-to-five years. (Reuters)
  • The National Telecommunications and Information Administration is looking for members for its newly created digital economy board of advisors. The board’s primary duty will be to provide independent advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce on issues impacting the digital economy. The agency said the board’s advice will focus on ensuring the Internet continues to thrive as an engine of growth, innovation, and free expression. (NTIA)
