Thinking outside the “Box”

Today’s interview is with Sonny Hashmi, the managing director, Global Government at Box. He is well known to listeners as the chief technology officer at GSA.

Hashmi joins host John Gilroy to discuss how his new company, Box, can help with govies moving to the cloud.  He starts off the interview with differentiating “Box” from “Dropbox.”

His company is dedicated to serving the needs of enterprise organizations.  In fact, they just signed

deals with Microsoft and IBM in order to reinforce their position in high volume, high value cloud technology.

During the interview, Hashmi outlines how Box can help the government and private sector

modernize regulations to comply with regulations yet keep data safe.

The topic of a quickly changing technology workplace is addressed as well as his thoughts on distributed, regulated organizations.

Hashmi has worked for large companies like Xerox and IBM, local governments, as well as large federal agencies.  Through it all he has kept his eye on using technology to achieve the goals of large organizations.
