Today’s interview is with Austin Adams, vice president at Alfresco. Many federal information technology professionals have heard of content management and business process management (BPM). Alfresco is an open source offering that combines the best of both worlds.
In a traditional business environment a document may be created and managed by a popular system like EMC Documentum or even SharePoint. Separate and distinct from those may be systems like Appian that allow for the document to be edited and reviewed while maintaining consistency.
During the interview, Adams details how Alfresco’s solution to this business process is elegant and secure. He delves into concepts like open source and system integration. He makes a convincing argument that serious consideration should be given to open source solutions for a wide range of federal document handling problems.
Host John Gilroy of The Oakmont Group speaks the language of federal CISOs, CIOs and CTOs, and gets into the specifics for government IT systems integrators. Follow John on Twitter. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts or Podcast One.
