Welcome to the #FedFeed, a daily collection of federal ephemera gathered from social media and presented for your enjoyment.

It’s National Chemistry Week, and the National Science Foundation is celebrating by sharing the adventures of NSF’s Inspector Mole!

It’s exactly what it seems like: a silly, nerdy spoof of hard-boiled detective noirs in blog form, following the adventures of Inspector Avogadro Mole (the name is a chemistry joke, by the way, which should give you an idea what you’re in for). It’s a creative way of sharing some of the work NSF does on a daily basis. And I have to say, I’m curious about the spore ghosts.

NSF actually does this kind of thing quite often…

And apparently has been since at least 1988.
