September 7, 2012 — This week on “FEDtalk, Bill Bransford will host a roundtable discussion with Lisa Sper from Federal Management Partners, Carrie Blustin from the American Society for Training and Development, and Jeanette Archetto from Grant Thornton to talk about the current state of training in the federal government.

A new report from CIO.gov says agencies such as the Social Security Administration that urged their managers to attend formal program management training, subsequently saw a significant increase in the measurable proficiency of its program managers.

Today’s guests will discuss what are other agencies doing to increase training, and some of the best practices that agencies can follow to increase employee proficiency and maximize their trainings.
