These are the stories Federal News Radio reporters are working on today.

  • The Small Business Administration is reminding employees of their rights under the whistleblower protection law. “Discouraged and Disrespected at SBA” SBA detailed its plans in response to a letter from Senator Olympia Snowe. The Maine Republican called for SBA administrator Karen Mills to correct the problems detailed in Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller special investigative series.
  • The Defense Information Systems Agency is trying to make it easier for their people to keep their identities straight. They’re building a new service that will synchronize the digital identities that DoD computer users have. The eventual goal is to automate the process of granting access to systems that each user needs…and phasing out the need for multiple usernames and passwords. Jack Wilmer, DISA’s technical director for global information grid enterprise services, says they built the identity management system to support the Army’s move to DISA’s cloud-based email service. Federal News Radio’s Jared Serbu has the story.
