  • The IRS is holding off on a rule to start the three-percent withholding tax on all invoices for goods or services the government buys. The withholding mandate was slated to go into effect January first, 2012. The IRS is holding off now until December 31.
  • Sheila Bair is stepping down as chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She’s been on the job for five years. She is scheduled to step down July 8. (Associated Press)
  • The Navy is launching an online multiplayer war game. The Office Naval Research wants more than a thousand people to play, to see what ideas people come up with, when they need to solve problems together. The first scenario will focus on fighting pirates on the ocean.
