  • A bill to cut the federal workforce by ten percent is on the house floor. The bill is sponsored by Rep Darrell Issa (R., Calif). The bill would limit the number of employees starting in fiscal 2015 to 90 percent of the total on September 30, 2011.
  • Dan Blair was named the President and CEO at the National Academy of Public Administration. Since 2006, Blair has served as a commissioner at the Postal Regulatory Commission and served as its first chairman. He also served as deputy director and as acting director of the Office of Personnel Management.
  • Steve Muro has been sworn in as Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs at Veterans Affairs. He’s been the Acting Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs since January 2009. His responsibilities include overseeing 131 national cemeteries that provide burial services for military Veterans and eligible family members.
