  • President Obama has named Matthew Olsen as the new counterterrorism chief. Olsen is the top lawyer for the National Security Agency. If confirmed by the Senate Olsen will direct the National Counterterrorism Center.
  • The Veterans Affairs Department has picked 15 vendors to provide technology services under a new $12 billion contract. The Transformation 21 Total Technology, will let VA choose from eight large vendors and seven service-disabled Veteran small businesses and Veteran-owned small businesses. Under the 5-year contract, the V-A will buy a broad range of IT and telecommunication services.
  • The Government Accountability Office is turning 90. President Warren G. Harding signed the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921 creating the agency. To celebrate its anniversary the G-A-O has created a video outlining the agency’s history.
