  • A few congressmen are just saying no to Saturday mail. Representatives David Dreier and Darrel Issa have sent a letter to the House rules committee to drop six day mail delivery from the 2012 financial services appropriations bill, Government Executive reports. Issa says the provision could save the USPS $3 billion annually.
  • The Treasury Department has said that all its bureaus and its vendors must use the Internet Payment Platform. This is an modernization measure to the Federal Employees Compensation Act. If approved the law would pay Federal workers for injuries and diseases they got while on the job. The bill is backed by the National Treasury Employees Union, they represent employees in over 30 agencies.
