  • The Government Accountability office is stepping up its fight against workers’ comp abuse. The GAO is accepting anonymous reports of workers’ compensation abuse by federal employees. This is part of their investigation into fraud in the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act.
  • OMB is launching the third annual “Saving Americans Value and Efficiency” or SAVE Award program. Employees can submit ideas and vote on them through July 29. So far feds have offered suggestions that range from “stop minting the penny,” to reducing the workweek from 40 to 35 hours.
  • The Navy has released a new portal strategy. The Navy says the strategy is intended to help them and the Marine Corps save money and improve security. Experts say, if done right the strategy will reduce the number of portals but improve data flow.
