  • The Defense Information Systems Agency is not moving to the Defense Department’s Cyber Command. BUT the Networks Integration and Information office is going away. DISA must transfer a portion of NII’s functions to the Office of the Under Secretary of Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.
  • A coalition of unions and federal employee groups want lawmakers to reject the proposal that increases feds’ retirement contributions. The pension change proposal would increase federal employees’ retirement contributions from zero point 8 percent to about 6 percent. The proposal is included in the 2012 budget plan by House Republicans and was recommended in the President’s bipartisan deficit commission report.
  • Retaliation was the most common discrimination charge against a federal employer last year. A report by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says allegations of retaliation saw a 2.7 percent increase in fiscal year 2010 over the previous fiscal year. In fiscal 2010, the EEOC received over 17,000 complaints against the federal government, that number is up nearly 4 percent from the previous year.
