  • Early retirements can go ahead at the Government Accountability Office. Senior Executive Service and Senior Level staff members at GAO are not eligible for the buyouts. If you take the early retirement, you’ll have to leave by September 30th.
  • Saying “we’re asking people to change the way they think,” Army Secretary John McHugh is announcing a new effort to transform the institutional side of the Army. McHugh says the institutional side includes personnel who prepare, train, educate and support soldiers. McHugh says that part of the Army looks a lot like it did 30 years ago.
  • Your federal building’s safety hasn’t improved after the Federal Protective Service has spent more than $35 million on its Risk Assessment and Management Program. The Government Accountability Office says the RAMP project is over budget by $36 million, behind schedule by two years, and doesn’t work right. GAO says the Homeland Security Department should consider dumping RAMP and starting over.
