Reporters’ Roundup: Navy’s IT purchases, alt energy

• The Department of the Navy chief information officer wants a review board to analyze and approve all technology purchases worth more than $1 million. The Navy and the Marines Corps aren’t following that policy. Instead, the services are putting the bar much lower. Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller has the details.
• It’s the law: the Defense Department must know how it spends every cent of its budget by 2017. The focus on wars overseas and budget cuts have slowed progress, but the Pentagon says it will pick up the pace. Federal News Radio’s Emily Kopp has the story.
