  • The Combined Federal Campaign is back for its 50th season. Federal workers, postal employees and military personnel pledged more than $280 million in each of the last two years, according to the Office of Personnel Management. OPM is encouraging you to break that total in honor of the campaign’s Golden anniversary.
  • OPM is making another attempt at pooling job applicant data so more than one agency can access it at the same time. Candidates only need to submit one job application to apply for jobs at several agencies. Right now the shared registers are only for entry-level budget analyst and IT specialist positions at about 20 locations.
  • The new edition of The United States Government Manual is out. The National Archives calls it the official handbook of the Federal Government. The book includes leadership listings, org charts, and lists of acronyms, among other things. The government’s published the book since 1948.
