The General Services Administration has tapped Lockheed Martin to help update the Federal Acquisition Service’s (FAS) business systems.
The agency announced Monday it awarded Lockheed the Application Maintenance, Enhancement and Operations (CAMEO) task order, which will “streamline a highly integrated IT portfolio.”
“We are moving to reduce the number of applications and platforms used by FAS, by updating and removing duplicative systems and driving new efficiencies into how we conduct business with our customer agencies,” said Tom Sharpe, the FAS commissioner, in a press release.
Under the award, Lockheed will develop and modernize applications that support FAS systems, including multiple award schedules and purchase card services, among others. The award will also support FAS’ efforts to launch the Common Acquisition Platform (CAP).
“FAS has a unique role in government, as America’s buyer, and requires specialized applications to manage this mission,” a Lockheed Martin press release stated. “These applications … are critical in meeting that mission.”
GSA said the CAMEO task order is “flexible” and “highly transformative,” and it maximizes opportunities for small businesses.
The agency awarded a separate task order, the CAMEO small business task order, to Alliant Solution Partners.
