Millions of commuters endured the onslaught of Snowstorm Jonas, which recently blanketed the East Coast.

While state and local governments struggled to clear roads and restore public transit service, millions were housebound, digging out from under as much as 3 feet of snow.

In the Washington, D.C.-area, the Office of Personnel Management was in charge of making decisions about when federal employees would be heading back to work.

On Friday, Jan. 22, OPM sent D.C.-area feds home at noon, leaving many feds feeling flustered.

The following Monday and Tuesday, OPM chose to close the government, which generated a “thumbs up” from many feds. However, on Wednesday and Thursday, it opted to reopen government offices under a 3-hour delay, which created a number of commuting headaches.

How do you think OPM did in getting the information out about changes to the operating status in the Washington, D.C.-region? Take our informal, anonymous, online survey.
