Calls for reform at the Pentagon are not just coming from the top of the organization. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has outlined a plan to change the way the agency looks and works, but there are increasingly loud voices saying more fundamental changes should be made.
Winslow Wheeler, Director of the Straus Military Reform Project at the Center for Defense Information, is editor of the new book “The Pentagon Labyrinth: 10 Short Essays to Help You Through It.” He contributed two of the 10 essays, “Congressional Oversight: Willing and Able or Willing to Enable?” and “Decoding the Defense Budget.”
