WASHINGTON, D.C. July 25, 2011: Federal News Radio 1500 AM presents the “New Face of Government,” a special series that reveals the results of an exclusive Federal News Radio survey about the relationship between established and younger workers of the federal government.

This survey earned participation from 850 federal employees of all ages. Feds under 35 accounted for 27 percent of respondents. Of the longer-term feds who took the survey, 43 percent have worked in government for more than 20 years. Throughout the series, Federal News Radio uncovers how Generation X’ers, Y’ers and Millenials are changing the ways in which the government operates. Federal News Radio also profiles six young feds from several agencies who express their likes and dislikes about federal employment.

Lisa Wolfe, Program Director at Federal News Radio, says “What this series shows is that federal agencies do care and need to care about recruitment, retention and engagement of new hires and hires right out of college. The 20 and 30 years olds we talked to shared some very insightful opinions about what makes a great workplace.”

The “New Face of Government” series is featured exclusively on Federal News Radio and FederalNewsRadio.com beginning Monday, July 25 and continuing through Friday, July 29.

Federal News Radio broadcasts in the Washington, D.C. metro on 1500 AM and 820 AM in Frederick.
