Mr. David De Vries is a Senior Executive with broad experience in Information Technology, Information Management, and Command and Control Systems. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving more than 29 years with a variety of leadership and staff officer experience in operational assignments involving command and control communications as well as information management and technology.

He assumed his current position as the Principal Director, Office of the DoD Deputy Chief Information Officer in May 2009. He is responsible for integrating DoD policies, guidance, and direction to create information advantage for DoD personnel and mission partners.

Arriving back in Europe for the 4th time in his military career in 2003, Mr. De Vries was assigned as the Deputy G6 / Chief Information Officer for the U.S. Army in Europe – a responsibility which included setting enterprise standards, and comprehensive policy for information management of DoD forces located in more than seven European countries. Returning to the United States in late 2007, he finished his military career influencing the creation of enterprise information sharing and IT capabilities to the Army Leadership and Commands.

Mr. De Vries holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He is also a graduate of the Army Senior Service College and served as a Corporate Fellow with IBM Business Consulting Services while serving with the Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellowship Program.
