Safeguarding Government Employees

Whether it’s the challenge of a mobile workforce, the international reach of an agency mission, or the re-emergence of professional travel, federal agencies a...

Concur’s secure, cloud-based solutions help federal agencies meet or exceed their Duty of Care responsibilities. Jim Lucier, Concur’s chief customer officer, said, for example, that the ever-changing travel landscape impacts the safety of government travel. Concur works with agencies to help ensure that their employees stay connected, making them reachable in a crisis and keeping them clear from danger.

Adam Joseph, Concur’s senior vice president for federal government, noted that complex federal rules can make travel difficult for federal employees. Concur works with agencies to make the travel process as easy as possible and has dedicated itself to being a reliable resource.

Concur also takes security seriously, whether it’s the security of a mobile employee, or ensuring that their systems remain safe. Both Patti Leonard, director of product management, and John Coovert, head of physical security, discussed steps that Concur takes to offer the very latest technical capabilities inside a protected environment. A low-risk, reliable system is a must for federal agencies.

Concur’s vice president of account management, Jamie Kiser, discussed how important it is to listen to actual line-level employees so that the solution Concur delivers actually meets their needs. These employees are part of the 21st century mobile workforce and expect Duty of Care solutions consistent with both their mission and the state of technology.

Providing these solutions in the federal market can be challenging, said Marques Tibbs-Brewer, Concur’s federal regional sales executive. As a former fed, Brewer understands the unique nature of federal travel. Maintaining Continuity of Operations (COOP) and providing the latest app-based technology are critical to any system. A safe, reliable system only works if employees feel comfortable with it and making use of today’s technology is an important part of Concur’s approach.
