President pledges $3.4 billion for ‘smart’ grid

President Obama today announced $3.4 billion in grants to move the nation closer to having a smart electric grid.

The White House says the award will also create tens of thousands of jobs while giving power companies and residents the ability to transfer power generated by wind and solar energy.
