Another record-breaking day of heat is roasting the D.C. region Wednesday.

The National Weather Service is tracking the weather closely and collecting data for future weather reports.

Register for the Ask the CIO Chat with Andy Ozment of the Homeland Security Department on Oct. 11, at 1:30 p.m.

Chris Strong is a warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service out in Sterling, Virginia and explains what, exactly, it is that they do.
