USB drives pose cyber threats

Info Security reports that lost USB drives containing sensitive data are threatening cybersecurity.

So what’s the danger of USB drives?

IT security vendors say USB sticks often contain sensitive data that is not encrypted leaving information completely vulnerable, Info Security reports.

A survey from Credant Technologies found that all of the 229 people surveyed had a least one USB and more than 20 percent had at least 10 USB drives.

Almost 10 percent of those surveyed said they had lost a USB device containing corporate data. Even worse, two-thirds of those never reported the loss to their bosses.
