Animation: NASA scientists lift James Webb Space Telescope

NASA Goddard Space Flight Center used a crane to lift the James Webb Space Telescope so that they can add instruments to its back.

Scientists at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, used a crane on Tuesday, March 22, to lift the James Webb Space Telescope in order to attach it to a stand. The scientists will next install flight instruments to the back of the telescope, which currently has a 2018 launch date. (Animated gif courtesy of NASA)
